Analysis on Epidemiological survey of Mumps in Two Primary Schools in Jinan City 2001

  • In order to study the epidemiological situation of Mumps in Jinan city 2001, an investigation was carried out among 1200 pupils in two primary schools. The first case occurred February 8, and since July 14, no cases was occurred. The beginning of May was the peak period. A total of 102 cases was reported with the prevalence rate 8.50% and the sexual ratio was 1.22∶1. Extremely, there was significant difference between each grade, which the prevalence rate of 2 grade was the highest (26/161, 16.15%) and 3 grade was the lowest (7/180,3.89%).32 of the 102 cases were vaccinee (32/348,9.20%).Since June 1,252healthy pupils with no vaccination were vaccinat-ed,then the amount of the sufferers decreased clearly.The prevalence of mumps was prevented in time.
