Study on The Vertical Transmission of Mycoplasma Genitalium from Mother to Infant

  • Objective To know the status of mycoplasma genitalium infection in pregnant mother and its vertical transmission from mother to infant. Method 877 samples of cervical swab of the pregnant mothers were tested for mycoplasm genitalium by nested PCR techndogy. Results 36 cases were positive and the positive rate was 4.1%(36/877). Meanwhile, 32 nenonates of the 36 positive pregnant mothers mentioned above were tested too. 8 cases were positive, and the positive rate was 25%. Conclusion Mycoplasma genitalium infection on pregnant mother and its vertical trans-missionshould be paid more attention by the eugenists.
