Epidemiological Analysis of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Laiwu City 1998-2002

Objective To investigate the epidemic situation of pulmonary tuberculosis in Laiwu city from 1998 to 2002.Method Using the method of epidemiological reviewing investigation to analyze to epidemic group, area and time distribution of the cases reported in the past 5 years. Results There were 1 637 movable pulmonary tuberculosis cases newly registered in whole city from 1998 to 2002, 687 of which were smear positive, including 563 new smear positive cases, 124 recurrent. The average new registered rate of the movable pulmonary tuberculosis was up to 26.58 per 100.000.The new registered rate of sputum smear positive cases was up to 11.15 per 100,000.The new registered rate of new smear positive cases was up to 9.14 per 100,000.In the 1637 patients,the number of male patients was higher than female (PPP<0.01).Conclusion The male patients,the patients of 15 to 64 years old and farmer patients had become the focal point of Pulmonary Tuberculosis control and prevention.
