Analysis on Surveillance Results of HIV Infection in National Sentinal in Gansu Province in 2002

Objective To explore the HIV infection situation, the risk factors and the behavior characters in drug users of Gansu province in 2002.Method The behaviors of drug users in two national sentinel spots of Yuzhou and Linxia were investigated, and the samples were taken to make biological test. Results There were 6 cases of HIV infection in national sentinel spots, and the rate of HIV infection was 0.76% (6/810). The 6 cases were all found in Yuzhou city. The rate of IDU was 7.04%(57/810), the positive rate of HCV was 25.20%(63/250),syphilis 5.68%(46/810).Conclusion Not only IDU was dangerous for HIV infection,but also other risk factors,such as STD and blood communicable diseases.We should pay attention to HIV prevention and control work.
