Epidemic Characteristics of HIV Infection of Floating Population in Wenzhou

To understand the epidemic characteristics of HIV infection of floating population in Wenzhou, an analysis of people with HIV infection was carried out. 102 cases of HIV - positive were detected in Wenzhou from 1988 to 2001, and 82 (82.39%) of 102 persons were floating population. Ten of them had died.54 of 82 came from other provinces,mainly from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 28(34.15%) of them were overseas Chineses.The infection persons were mostly aged from 20 to 40. The blood transmission (64.63%)was the main pattern for them.Before 1998,the infection persons were mainly overseas Chinese but after 1999 were mainly floating population from Xinjiang.The investigation indicated that the HIV infection persons in Wenzhou were mainly foating population,and so it was urgent to take appropriate measures to control further transmission of HIV.
