Analysis on Epidemic Trend of STD/AIDS in Gansu Province 1995-2003

  • Objective In order to analyze the epidemic trend of STD/AIDS and to provide information for making STD/AIDS-related policies and strategies. Method The epidemiological data of STD/AIDS collected from 14 cities of Gansu Province 1995-2003 were analyzed with statistics software. Results 54 156 cases of 8 species of STDS/AIDS were reported in Gansu province. The average of annual reported incidence of STD/AIDS was 23.70/ 100 000 . The proportion of the cases of Gonorrhea among all STDS cases was de-creased gradually by year. Meanwhile,the proportion of other species of STDS was increased reversely. The sex ratio of male and female with STDS/AIDS was 1.55:1. The average of annual increased incidence of STD/AIDS was 13.40% in the group of 20-40 years old. The proportion of NGU.CA and AIDS cases a- mong all STDS cases were increased gradually by year. In 2000and 2001, the number of the reported CA cas-es exceeded that of gonorrhea for two years. TP also had the trend of developing and spreading. Conclusion The change of epidemic trend showed that the prevention and control measures of STD/AIDS should be read-justed.
