An Analysis on the Results from Surveillance of Epidemic Report management in Jiujiang

Objective The present analysis was done to quest for a new approach to the repot and ad-minstration of epidemic situation in order to improve the quality of epiemics reports of jijuiang.The au-thor commenced a successive，energetic and supervisory monitoring from 1999 to 2001 on these issues.Methods Eiderniological statistics was applied to analyze the data acquired. Results The implementa-tion of monitoring on nosocomial reports and management as to epidemic situation played an active role in the promotion of management quality，which was primarily showed in the following evidence that the in tervention frequencey of sanitation deparments on hospital monitoring took on an ascending tend；the re port rate in out-patient clinic，timeliness and that in labs assumed a steady increase annually；eases report ed from the out—patient(excluding infectious departments at county level)surpassed those from in—patient departments；the number of unreported months decreased yearly and there was a remarkable increase in the number of hospitals which didn’t have“no epidemic situation to report”.Conclusion The execu tion of management and monitoring on the report of epidemic situation in hospitals is a pertinent and el fecitive method. Aiming at problems found in the course of monitoring，sanitation departments must keep reinforcing the strength of executive administration on infectious diseases and take several effective mea sures for intervention to potentiata the disease-reporting sense of medical practitioners and shift from pas sive monitoring to active reporting. Thus the reporting quality of epidemic situation in our city will be improved to a much higher level.
