Molecular Typing Study on 134 Strains of Salmonella Paratyphi A in Zhejiang Province

  • Objective The present study was conducted to analyze the genetic correlation of salmonella paratyphi A and epidemic regularity using molecular typing technique for constituting effective measures of prevention and treatment in Zhejiang province.Methods 134 Strains of Salmonella paratyphi A of Zhejiang province were corrried through molecular epidemiology study using Pulsed—field gel electrophoresis (PFGF).Results One hundreds thirty four detected strains were divided into eleven types.Type I,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,Ⅵ,Ⅶ,Ⅷ,Ⅸ,Ⅹ and Ⅺ accounted for 47.8%,36.6%,0.7%,4.5%,0.7%,0.7%,0.7%,1.5%,0.7%,1.5% and 4.5%,respectively.Conclusion Both type I and Ⅱ accounted for 84.3% in the total 134 strains.It is thus evident that 134 detected strains have a high homology and eight of them ale of the rare bacterium type,which may be associated with the high sporadic condition of salmonella palatyphi A in Zhejiang province.
