Quality Appraisal for Reports of Infectious Diseases from Medical Organizations of 2004 in Tianjin City

  • Objective This study aimed to conduct a quality appraisal for repoas of infectious diseases from medical organizations of 2004 in Tianjin City so as to find out problems and further improve management of medical organizations for infectious diseases,and to provide a reference for quaHty improvement of epidemic simafion repoffs.Methods The approach of random sampling was used to conduct survey on mports of infectious diseases from medical organizations of different levels in the 18 districts and counties of the whole city,as well as circumstances of failure to report.Results There exists difference for the degree to which management system for epidemic situation reports is implemented by medical organizations of levels.In clinics and in—patient departments,totally 1034 cases were found infectious diseases of type B and C,270 cases were failed to report,and the failure rate was 26.1% as a whole.The failure rate for other types of infectious diarrhea was 60.3%.Which was the highest.Conclusion Medical organizations should further standardize the management for reports of infectious diseases,and establish a legal system for it.It is recommended that "Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases”should be fully understood,the concept of legal system should be strengthened,and the skill for diagnosis of infectious diseases,as well as the consciousness for reporting,should be improved so that failure to report may be avoided.
