Analysis on Injury Status of 313 Workers in Zhongshan City

Objective This study was conducted to understand the injury cause，type and distribution characteristic to provide the scientific evidence for constituting the preventive measures based on suddenness injury in future．Methods A retrospective study was performed to analyze the data from identifing occupational injury grade for 313 workers in 2003 in Zhongshan city．Results Among 313 occupational injury workers，male and female were 252 and 61，respectively，with the ratio of male to female being 4.13：1．The first three injuries according to body part were the upper extremity，lower extremity and the five sense organs (eyes，ears，mouth，nose and throat)．The injury causes focused on the unskilled operation，overtime work，the lack of individual self-safeguard，et al．The craft types of injury occurrence were common among the five metals，family equipment，furniture and plastic manufacture，and so on．Conclusions It is suggested that effective prevention should be consfimmd based on the injury cause and the rate of injury part，strengthening safe awareness and psychological health education to improve the self- protection awareness of workers．
