Surveillance and Evaluation on Vaccination in Pingguo County

  • Objective This study was conduced to understand the current status of vaccination rate in Pinggun county.Methods The data from the expanded programme on mamunization (EPI) and ocourrence of measles were synthetically anulyzcd in recent year.Results The range of estimated vaccination rate for four bacterins was from 55.44% to 84.51% between 1995 and 2003. Including bacillus Culmette-Gunrin (BCG),oral poliomyelitis vaccine (OPV),thphthefia pertussls tetanus associated vaccine (DPT)、measles vaccine (MV).The range of estimated fortified rate of OPV wag from 66.90% to 90.25% between 1993 and 2003 The average incidence rate of measles was 24.01/lulda.Children aged under 3 years accounted for 30.13%.61.12% measles cases without history of vaccination.Conclusions There was an immune nothingness in regular EPI and OPV fortification in Pingguo county.It occurred among infants aged under 1 year.It is reconunended that effective measures should be taken for looking up and making up the absence data to eliminate immune nothingness and increase vaccination rate
