Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of Notifiable Diseases Directly Reported through Network in Dongying City

Objecfive This analysis was conduced to understand the epidemiological character-istics of infectious diseases in Dongying city and the effects of their prevention and treatment to provide background infornmion for the prevention and control of infectious diseases Methods Descriptive epidemlotogieal methods were used to analyze the epidemics of infectious diseases in 2004 in Dongying city Results Statistics showed that the reported incidence of infectious dis—eases was 181.99／lakh．29.60％ higher than the incidence in 2003．The top 5 irifectious diseases in incidence were viral hepatitis (74.27／lakh)，dysentery(52.52／lakh)，pulmonary tuberculosis (38.03／lakh)，gonorrhea(8.05／lakh)，epidemic hemorrhagic fever (4.81／lakh)．Conclusion The epidemics of infectious diseases are in a stable condition with occasional local outbreaks Epidemic surveil—lance should be strengthened and stress is to be placed on the prevention and cure of major in- fecfious disenses with pertinent preventive and curadve strategies．
