Investigation of Hypertension and Its Behaviors Intervention in Community residents

Objective The obective of the present investigation was to get an insight into what commu-nity residents knew about hypertension in order to provide a scientific basis on which to implement health education in this population. Methods Questionaire inquiry was used in community residents. Quick evaluation，site visiting and consultation，pulishing propaganda meterials，etc were adopted to intervene，and effects of pre-and post-intervention were evaluated. Results After behavior intervention，the basic knowledge of prevention and treatrment of hypertesion in community residents was well improved，but their attitudes showed no significant difference. The cognition level of these residants about hypertension was related to their ages and education degree. Conclusion Cognition level of community residants about hypertension needs to be enhanced. It’s necessary to develop measures for the prevention and treatment of hypertension as well as behavior intervention in this population.
