Monitoring on antibody levels of pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus in healthy population of Shaoguan

  • Objective This study was intended to understand the status of immunization against pertussis, diphtheria and tecanus in healthy population and provide a timely seiemitic basis for immuniza- tion strategy. Methods A number of healthy people aged between 0-40 were randomly selected to un-dergo monitoring antibody levels of pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus. Results The geometric mean titer (GMT) and rate of protection for pertussis antibody were 1:374.2 and 67.74%,respectively;GMT of diphtheria and tetanus antitoxin was 0.1699IU/ml and 0.1804IU/ml,with a positive rate of 88.94% and 91.83%,respectively. Conclusion A good immunological barrier against pertussis, diphtheria and tetanos has formed, but the antibody level of pertussis among people is a little lower, therefore we should strongly extend the use of Adsorbed Diphtheria,Tetanus and Acellular Pertussis Combined Vaccine.
