Analysis on Epidemic Situation of Notifiable Diseases from 2001 to 2003 in Wuhan City

  • Objective The purpose of this analysis was,by comparing the reported onsets of commu-nieable diseases in Wuhan City of 2001-2003,to find the potentially present problems and guarantee timely and accurate reporting of epidemic situation as well as provide a scientific basis for the prevention of diseases.Methods The“National Management Information System for Disease Reporting" software was employed to gather epidemic data from CDC of each district,and epidemiological analysis was made for key infectious diseases.Results The annual average morbidity rate of class A and B communicable diseases was 210.41Aakh,with the lowest of 198.31Aakh in 2002 and the highest of 234.78Aakh in 2003:the morbidity rate of blood—source and sexual transmission diseases as welI as respiratory infectious diseases were increasing year after year,in addition tO which a new disease entity called SARS occurred in 2003.Conclusion Reporting of epidemic situation is fundamental tO the prophylaxis and controI Of infectious diseases,the timeliness,correctness and standardization of which is not only crucial to the pre-vention and cure of infectious diseases and control accidental epidemics,but also an important foundation of assessing efficacies of preventive measures and studying epidemic rules.In 2003,online direct report-ing of epidemic situation was basically established in Wuhan city,while in 2004,the registration and re-porting rate of notifiable diseases should be required to surpass 95%.Aiming at the present problems.We should apply appropriate measures tO warrant in-time and accurate epidemic reporting in order to af-fOrd scientific basis for prevention of diseases.
