Analysis of measles antibody levels in children in the city of Zhu Madian

Objective The purpose of the present analysis wss to get an insight into the measles anti body levels in children in the city of Zhu Madian to furnish background information for the prevention and controd of the epidernic Methods Children at 2-15 years of age in the city were selected and divid ed into 3 age groups Serum IgG antibody was detected by ELISA method Results Of the 333 sub jects studied，the positive rate of measles antibody was 91.3％ with Geometic mean titers of 1:762 There was no significant difference in antibody positive rate and antibody protection late belween differ-ent sexes A significant difference was seen in antibody positive rate bot not in antibody protection rate between different age groups Both antbody positive rate and antibody protection rate were significantly higher in city dwellers than in rural population Conclusion The incidence of measles in the city of Zhu Madian has been kept in a relatively low levd since 1995，with occasional outbreaks and spoladic at tacks it is recommended that reinforced immunizations of measles for the 7-year group are to be taken seriously ln addition to good baslc lmmunizations
