Analysis on Epidemic Characteristics and Trend of AIDS in Shandong

Objective This study was designed to analyze the epidemic trait of AIDS and rele-vant influential factors SO as to provide a scientific basis for controlling the spread of AIDS．Methods Excel database and SPSS 11.5 statistic software were adopted to sort and analyze case report data of AIDS from 1992 to 2000 in Shandong province．Results In recent years，the num-ber of cases reported and onsets of HIV-infected people in Shandong province had shown a ten-dency of rapid increase．By the end of December of 2004，accumulatively，436 cases of HIV in-fection had been detected，160 of whom were AIDS patients，with 66 cases deceased．The ratio of infected females increased quickly and the epidemic of AIDS was diffusing from the high-risk people to general population．Conclusion Given that the risk factors of AIDS epidemic are wide-ly present in Shandong province forecasting the tough future of AIDS prevention and cure，we should further take effective measures to curb the prevalence of AIDS．
