Investigation and Analysis of Brucellosis Epidemic in Gongyi City from 2002 to 2004

Objective The present study aimed to master the dynamic condition and reasons for the reviving of brucellosis in Gongyi city so as to provide basis for formulating scientific prevention and control measures．Methods A prospective epidemiological investigation for the brucellosis epidemic status in Gongyi city from 2002 to 2004 was carried out by adopting The Monitoring Action Program of Brucellergen for the National Monitoring Spots．Results The direct reason for the brucellosis epidemic in Gongyi was the import of the ecdemic source of infection．The livestock，such as flocks and herds，were not vaccinated against brucellergen．The free transportation and business of infectious flocks and herds resulted in the spread of brucellosis between human and livestock．The maximal incidence rate of human was 1.4/100,000 while the maximal infection rate of livestock (sheep) was 6.55％．Conclusion If the system of immunization insurance for livestock and certificate of immunity are implemented，and if the epidemic spots between human and livestock Can be quickly and effectively treated，the epidemic brucellosis in local areas can be controlled rapidly and perished at 1ast．
