Dynamic analysis on monitoring results of Keshan disease in Shandong Province for 15 years

Objecfive This study was designed to observe dynamically the change of conditions of Keshan disease in the past 15 years in Shandong Province．To understand the changing trend of Keshan disase．And so scientifically instruct the implementation of prevention，control and research work．Methods According to the requirements of national monitoring measures for Keshan disease，the areas with high incidence of Keshan disease were set monitoring point since 1990，and a continuous monitoring for conditions of susceptible people aged 3~14 years and suspected padents above 14 years old was conducted，and at the same time，the content of seledium in inside and outside environmet，as well as the economic income of resident and per capita available provisions，etc. was investigated ResuIts Thre was no case of acute or sub—acute Keshan disease observed at the four monitoring points for continuous 15 years，while there were 37 cases of chronic Keshan disease．The detectable rate among people mainly monitored was 1,85％tO 4.23％,of which 81.30％to 94.60％were potential patients of Keshan disease The detectable rate for abnormal electrocardiogram and heart enlargement found through chest X—ray examination was 2.10％-5．71％and 14.10％-23.60％respectively．The content of hair selenium tended to increase．Conclusion The Keshan disease conditions of Shandong Province were in a continuous stable state after controlled basically．
