Logistic Regression Analysis on Missing Report of Notifiable Diseases in Rural Areas in Henan Province.

  • Objectives This study was designed to find out factors of the missing report of noti-fiable diseases in rural areas in Henan Province, and provide basis for formulating policy on re-porting notifiable diseases.Method Adopting multistage stratified cluster sampling,a plain coun-ty and a mountain county were chosen randomly as samples from which reporting incidence of communicable diseases was within moderate level in Henan Province. Each sample county chose 4 towns as samples. An investigation was conducted for notifiable diseases reporters of medical units of sample counties and towns, statistic analysis adopted unconditional logistic regression. Results Positive factors for reporting communicable diseases were as follow willing to report diseases.Fill-ing out notifiable diseases cards, being trained by the public health bureau on reporting notifiable diseases, years of being a medical worker. The negative factor was because of no pay. Conclusion The main reasons which affected notifiable diseases reporting in rural areas in Henan Province are lower pay for communicable diseases reporters, less trained in reporting notifiable diseases, being trained in low level, reporters'low consciousness and lacking of necessary tools in reporting notifi-able diseases.
