Evaluation of the performance of the direct network report of infectious diseases through network in Quzhou City

Objective The present study was designed tO evaluate the quality of direct network report system(hereafter referred to as network report system) about infectious diseases and sudden public health incidents in Quzhou City for the enhancement of the timeliness and sensitivity of our network report system and standardization of our network report system．Methods The internet reporting rate，timely-reporting rate from medical institutions and timely-examining rate of county CDC were statistically analyzed．Results The network reporting rate from county medical institutions and township hospitals were 100.00％ and 73.48％ respectively．Compared with the rate in 2004，the timely-reporting rate of infectious diseases increased by five percent(X2=44.591，PX2=169.751，P<0.001) in 2005 increased by 2.37 percent．Conclusion Network reporting system in Quzhou City is gradually improving and operating well overall．Efforts need tO be made tO improve the quality of network reporting through a periodic evaluation，which contributes to timely discovering the problems in the management of the network reporting system to better future performance in this aspect．
