The evaluation of the practice of the direct network reporting system for infectious diseases in 2005

  • Objective The present study was designed to make an evaluation of the practice of the direct network reporting system for infectious diseases in 2005 SO that appropriate measures were taken based on the problems found out to further improve the quality of the system,making better the epidemic reporting.Methods The indices associated with the evaluation of the direct reporting of infectious diseases were used to evaluate the performance of the direct network report-ing system for infectious diseases based on the Composite Average Index as far as the quality of the information from the direct network reporting system and that from the system of medical fa-cilities were concemed.Results The overall profile of the performance of the direct network re-porting system for infectious diseases all over China were addressed through a comprehensive anal-ysis of the quaSty of the information from the direct network reporting system and that from the system of medical facilities.Conclusion Great progress was made in the direct network reporting on infectious diseases in 2005,yet there remained problems to be solved in the coverage of net- work in the township health centers,in the missing repots in medical facilities,and in the overall coincidence rate of the key indices of the reported information.
