Survey and analysis on the status of HIV infection among detained population and paid blood donors in Fuzhou City

Objective The present study was conducted to get the knowledge of frequency and status of AIDS among detained personnel and paid blood donors in Fuzhou City in order to pro-vide related departments (such as police，justice departments and SO on)with the basis to establish strategies of AIDS prevention．Methods One-to-one investigation of behavior was done by the personnel in detention centers or on the spot according to uniform questionnaires．Serological test was done based on the criteria for laboratory tests．Results Among 20 675 cases in the study，8 cases with positive HIV were found and the infection、rate was 0.39‰．The detection rate in drug rehabilitation center was the highest，which was up to 6.06‰．The infection rate of personnel from other province was 0.68‰，which was obviously higher than that from the province (O.17‰)．Conclusion Although the overall detection rate of HIV iS not high in the five kinds of spots，education management and surveillance of the population can not be released，and preven-tion and treatment of floating population and drug abusers should be the emphasis in the future．
