An analysis on information quality of the infectious disease reports in Louxing district of Loudi city of Hunan province from January 2004 to September 2005

Objective The study was designed to evaluate the quality of the network direct re-porting of the infectious diseases from January 2004 tO September 2005 and get insight into the problem that had occurred in the reports of infectious diseases since direct network reporting was implemented in order to provide a scientific basis for the improvement of the report systems of the infectious diseases in Louxing district．Methods Statistical analysis Was done on the factors influ-encing the promptness and accuracy of the reports in the report system of epidemic situation in Louxing district in order to make a comprehensive evaluation on the quality of the epidemic re-ports．Results An comprehensive analysis was conducted on report units，types of report units，examination results，information about overlapping cards，promptness in order to evaluate the quali-ty of the direct network reporting of infectious diseases from January 2004 to September 2005．Conclusion The medical facilities above county level have realized direct reporting through net-work system basically，but the problem still exist，e.g．No direct network reporting system in medi-cal facilities at the township level and the ability of the professionals to use direct network report-ing system should be improved．
