Epidemiological investigation and analysis of caries among high and primary school students in Taizhou City

Objective The present study was conducted tO know the prevalent situation of caries among high and primary school students in the area of Taizhou to provide a basis for the formula- tion of oral healthcare plan．Methods 2502 students(male 1501，female 1001)，aged from 7 to 17 years，in two high and primary schools in Taizhou were sampled．Dental examination was conduct- ed for them based Oll the”National Technical Code for the Protocol of Comprehensive Prevention and Treatment of Common Diseases among Students”．WHO diagnostic standards for caries were adopted．Results The incidence rate of caries among high and primary school students was 37.41％．The incidence was lower among junior high school students(25.51％)than among primary school students (53.63％)and senior high school students (31.01％)(PPP
