An epidemiological analysis on 175 cases of measles

  • Objective this study was designed to get an insight into the epidemiological characteristics of measles.Methods A retrospective analysis WaS done on the data of 175 cases of measles admitted to Huzhou Municipal Central Hospital from January to June.Results The analysis revealed that the total positive rate of measles antibody was 55.4%(97/175).And the epidemic was characterized by both sporadic occurrences and small prevalence.The onset of the epidemic was obviously seasonal,increasing in January and decreasing in May. Young and middle-aged people were predominantly affected accounting for 58.6%.With children under 10 years of age ranked the second in terms of the incidenee.Accounting for 20.0%.The ratio of male to female affected was l:1.3.Conclusion Young and middle-aged people as well as children are susceptible to the disease,and high priority should be placed on the disease prevention and protection of the population.
