Study on infection situation of HIV among women settled in rural area of Weifang City in Shangdong Province from other places outside the area

Objective This study was performed to understand the infection situation of HIV a-mong women settled in Weifang City from other places．Methods A mass survey was conducted among women settled in this city，and at the salne time，their blood serum samples were taken and performed HIV antibody test with ELISA and Western bolt methods，and then compared with anti-HIV test results of the same period among local specific population．Results Among the settled women from other places，the positive rate of HIV antibody was 0.74％ (45/6053)，while the corresponding positive rate of the saine period among local specific population，including peo-pie suspected clinically，patients with venereal disease and tuberculosis，and blood donors，etc，was 0.0l％(10/75 786)，and SO the difference of the two has a statistical significance (X2=445.06，P
