Comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the quality of direct network reports on infectious diseases in Maoming City in 2005

  • Objective This study was made tO comprehensively evaluate and analyze the quality of direct network reports on infectious diseases in Maoming City in 2005 for understanding the key factors influencing the reporting of infectious diseases.Methods The data On the epidemic situations from direct network reports from the medical and disease-control facilities at different levels and the information about the infectious diseases obtained through investigation in 2005 in Maoming City were comprehensively analyzed and evaluated in terms of the composition of the reporting institutions,the rate of direct reports,the quality. Of cards,the promptness of reporting and others.Results The analysis showed that the median time from the diagnoses to the auditing of infections diseases was 1.81d in 2005 in the city.The complete and accurate rates of cards were 98.40% and 98.20% respectively.The rate of repeated reports was 0.03% in the whole year with the rate of monthly auditing being 99.37%.The rate of missed reports was 9.67% with no nil and neglect reports.Conclusion Tuberculosis is the most important infectious disease that influences the quality of reports on the epidemic situations in the city.The supervision of infectious diseases reporting in the township health centers needs to be strengthened.The training and technical supervisions are supposed to be taken seriously.
