Surveillance in the hand-foot-mouth disease based on National Disease Supervision Information Management System

Objective The present study was designed to get an insight into the epidemiological characteristics and investigate the baseline data about epidemiology of hand-foot-mouth disease．Methods Based on the requirement of supervision program of hand-foot-mouth disease, surveil-lance and report was done by national disease supervision information management system．Results It was found hand-foot-mouth disease is one of infectious diseases with relative high incidence．The incidence of Children aged 5 and less than 5 was higher than 1000/10 and those who stay at nursery and kindergarten were susceptible to the disease，with obvious peak season in summer．Conclusion National Disease Supervision Information Management System is an effective Work-Platform of disease surveillance to make surveillance in non-notifiable infectious diseases in local area rapidly and to conclude the epidemiological characteristics of hand-foot-mouth disease in Weihai city．
