Pathogenic study on respiratory tract infection of infants in the island area

Abstract
Objective The present study was conducted to explore the virus of acute respiratory tract infection among infants in the island area. Methods Phlegm of 211 infants with acute respiratory tract infection was collected for virus testing. Results There were 35 cases of virus infection, include- ing 20 cases of respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)infection(9.5%), 6 of influenza virus infection(2.8%), 9 of adenovirus infection(4.3%), 4 of parainfluenza virus type 3 infection(1.9%), 2 of parainfluenza virus type 1 infection (1%), and 2 of parainfluenza virus type 2 infection (1%). Conclusion RSV is still the commonest pathogeny of the infants with acute respiratory tract infection in the island area, and the diagnosis of viral etiology can provide a reliable basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
