Epidemiological analysis on 44 cases of public health emergency in Hezhou in Guangxi

  • Objective The study was conducted to analyze the epidemiological features of public health emergency in Hezhou,and provide scientific evidence for effective forecasting,early warning, prevention and control of public health emergencies.Methods The descriptive epidemiological analysis was performed based on the 44 collected cases of public health emergency in Hezhou from 2004 to May 2007.Results Infectious diseases and food poisonings were the most common cases of public health emergency,which accounted for 59.10% and 31.81% of the total number of incidents, respectively,with school emergencies constituting 45.45%.Conclusion Prevention and control of infectious diseases and food poisonings are the most urgent tasks,especially in rural schools,where timely and effective control is required for public health emergencies.In order to actively deal with various public health emergencies,a complete emergency response system should be established,high- qualified teams led by experienced medical staffs needed.
