Analysis on the incidence of four chronic diseases in Hangzhou in 2006

Objective The study was conducted to analyze the current morbidity of four kinds of chronic diseases to provide scientific evidence for the prevention and control of the diseases.Methods Statistics of chronic diseases were collected from the 2006 annual report on chronic diseases in Hangzhou City for analysis.Results The incidence of four chronic diseases in Hangzhou in 2006 was 528.76/lakh,with the standardized incidence rate being 347.25/lakh.The incidence of the four chronic diseases among men was 574.37/lakh,with the standardized rate being 365.23/lakh;the incidence among women was 481.21/lakh,with the standardized rate being 325.38/lakh,which was lower than that among men.The incidence of chronic diseases showed an upward trend in relation to age increase. As to the geographic distribution,the incidence was higher in rural areas than in urban.Conclusion The incidence of chronic diseases was increasing year by year,with the highest incidence shown in the elderly.Therefore,efforts need to be made to take effective control measures and reduce the incidence for the improvement of public health.
