Discussion of the effects of infectious disease reporting modes on the report quality

  • Objective The present study was conducted to discuss different reporting modes of infectious diseases in order to provide the basis for further improvement of the report quality. Methods The report cards of infectious diseases in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2005 were sampled and analyzed statistically, which were involved in four kinds of reporting modes of infectious disease respectively. Results With the improvement of the reporting modes of infectious disease epidemic situation, the integrity rate, the accuracy rate and the reporting timeliness rate of infectious disease report cards and the failed reporting rate of infectious diseases were obviously improved. Compared with the year of 1996, the integrity rate increased 88.46%, the accuracy rate rose 38.89%, the timeliness rate increased 2 times, late reporting rate reduced 77.78%, and the failed reporting rate decreased 81.09%. Conclusion The direct network reporting system has greatly improved the reporting quality of infectious disease. From now on, we should strengthen the management and solve the problems of the direct network reporting system.
