Current situation, existing problems and countermeasures of information quality integrated evaluation of reporting on infectious diseases in Nanjing

Objective This study was conducted to understand the current status and present problems of information quality integrated evaluation of reporting on infectious disease in Nanjing for better reporting and higher information quality in the city. Methods Analysis was made on the data from the Disease Surveillance Information Report Administration System of the Disease Prevention and Control Information Center of China from Jan to Jun, 2006 on the basis of survey and follow-up visits. Results Non-prompt report rate of infectious disease in Nanjing from Jan to Jun, 2006 was 7.54%, non-prompt verification rate 0.84%, duplicated rate 0.02%. Cases reports were found in all 13 counties and districts in the city, ranking moderately among the thirteen cities of the province. Conclusion The information quality of report of infectious disease in Nanjing was relatively good, urban better than suburban. Non-prompt report and verification of disease control center should be paid high attention to.
