Epidemiological analysis of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in China from 2004 to 2005

Objective The study was conducted to summarize and analyze the general epidemic situation,distribution and the epidemiological characteristics of HFRS in China(Hong kong and Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Area not included)from 2004 to 2005.Methods The epidemiological data of HFRS in China in recent years was collected and analyzed.Results Compared with the data of 2004,the number of reported HFRS cases in 2005 decreased gradually with new epidemic regions appearing,though reported cases increased in particular provinces.Conclusion The epidemic of HFRS in China kept stable with a slight declining trend.It is necessary to further strengthen the surveillance while implementing comprehensive measures for the prevention and control of HFRS.
