Abstract
Objective The present study was to investigate and analyze the proportion and constitu- tion of bacterial foodborne diseases in diarrhea patients of Minhang District,Shanghai.Methods Cases of bacteria foodborne diseases in monitored gastrointestinal clinics in Minghang District from April to October,2006 were retrospectively described based on epidemiologic methods and the data were statistically analyzed with SPSS 10.0.Results The positive rate of bacterial foodborne diseases tested from stools of diarrhea patients in Minghang District from April to October was 14.08% with the peak in August.Conclusion Bacterial foodborne diseases account for a large proportion in diarrhea cases in Minhang District,Shanghai,with the period of July to September being the peak of incidence and Vibrio Parahaemolyticus being the main foodbome bacterium.
