Abstract
Objective The present study was conducted to identify the particular pathogenic bacteria in a food poisoning event that occurred in a certain clothing company. Methods Suspected food and rectal swab samples were collected for multiple-bacterial separation, identification and serotyping based on the GB/T4789-2003 standard.CT virulence gene detection of the strains was done following the procedures described in the manual for the prevention and control of cholera. Results Nine strains of vibrio cholera serotype O29 were detected from the fecal samples of six patients and fourteen peo- ple with mild diarrhea or abdominal discomfort,in which six strains were detected from diarrhea pa- tients and three from mild diarrhea patients, detection rate 45.0%.No pathogenic bacteria such as shigella, vibrio parahaemolyticus, enteropathogenic escherichia coli, vibrio cholerae O1 and O139, staphylococcus aureus were detected;no shigella, vibrio parahaemolyticus, enteropathogenic escherichia coli, vibrio cholerae O1 and O139,staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria were detected in the re- maining food. Conclusion The food poisoning was caused by vibrio cholerae non-O1,serotype O29.
