Comparison of the epidemic reports of infectious diseases before and after the implementation of direct network report

  • Objective The present study was conducted to gain insight into the status quo of direct network reports of infectious diseases for a better epidemic management. Methods The data on the epidemic reports before and after the implementation of direct network report from the First People's Hospital of Zhumadian were analyzed and evaluated. Results It was shown that 11 infectious diseases affecting 127 cases were reported before implementing direct network report with a time limit of less than 24 hours, and 10 infectious diseases involving 263 cases were reported after using direct network report with a time limit of less than 2 hours. Compared with the number of reported infectious disease cases before exercising direct network report, there was an increase by 136 cases in the reported number after employing the method, with an increase by 107.09%. Conclusion It is seen that those who are responsible for the work after adopting direct network report have a stronger sense of responsibility for the reporting with an accelerated report rate, conducing to an earlier epidemic surveillance and analysis, and institution of preventive actions.
