Analysis on the quality of direct reporting via network oil infectious diseases in Chaoyang District of Beijing

  • Objective This study was conducted to learn the occurrence of infectious diseases well, find out the current condition of direct report via network for infectious diseases in Chaoyang District and provide a basis for precise strategy for health departments of various levels. Methods Investigation was carried out on infectious diseases reported in information report and management system of the disease surveillance from 2004 to 2006, and the quality of the reporting were analyzed synthetically based on the number, the component of reporting facilities, the number of repeated reports, timeliness and accuracy of the reports, and the timeliness of hospitalizing. Results With the increase number of reports, repeated reports increased over years. The numbers of repeated reports in 2004-2006 were 1457, 1669 and 2732, respectively; the repeated rate in 2005 (5.7%)was lower than that in 2004(7.9%) and 2006(8.4%); the timeliness of reporting was best in 2006 and worst in 2005; and the reporting accuracy was best in 2006 and worst in 2004. Conclusion The reporting accuracy and the reporting system sensitivity were largely influenced by the reports of some chronic diseases, especially the chronic hepatitis B and chronic pulmonary tuberculosis, suggesting that improving chronic disease management and enhancing large comprehensive medical institution management would facilitate a more effective control of disease occurrence and development.
