Epidemic analysis of brucellosis in Mizhi county, Shannxi province, 2004-2007

The study was conducted to determine the epidemiological trends and characteristics of brucellosis in Mizhi county, Shannxi province, 2004-2007. Relevant reports and surveillance data of the past four years in the county were collected and analyzed. A total of 219 cases with brucellosis were reported, suggesting an increasing trend of incidence. A total of 109 out of 4800 sheep and cattle were quarantined with the positive rate of 2.27%. Consequently, stable epidemiological characteristics of brucellosis were shown in Mizhi county, Shannxi province.
