Analysis on notifiable infectious diseases in Huanggu district of Shenyang, Liaoning province, 2000-2007 

  • Objective To investigate the epidemic features of class A and B infectious diseases in Huanggu District and provide the scientific evidence for the control of class A and B infectious diseases in the district. Methods A comprehensive analysis was conducted on the data of notofiable infectious diseases in the district from 2000 to 2007. Results A total of 16 518 cases of notifiable infectious diseases were reported during this period with the annual incidence rate of 288.19/lakh.The top five diseases with higher incidence were bacillary dysentery, pulmonary TB, scarlet fever, syphilis and viral hepatitis B, these cases accounted for 75.66% of the total cases. The incidence peaked in August. The case number in age group of 20 was highest (19.26%), More cases occurred among jobless people, students and workers (18.30%, 16.30% and 15.71% respectively). Most cases were of infectious diseases of digest track (43.86%). Conclusion The incidence rate of notifiable infectious diseases in the district from 2000 to 2007 declined by 27.27% compared with the previous 8 years. Main diseases were infectious diseases of digest track, followed by respiratory track diseases.
