Analysis of the results in surveillance of brucellosis in Jinhua city from 2004 to 2007

Objective　The study was conducted investigate the conditions of human brucellosis and its epidemiological patterns in Jinhua from 2004 to 2007, in order to provide evidence for the prevention and control of this disease. Methods　The brucellosis antibodies were determined using RBPT and SAT. Statistical analysis was conducted based on the surveillance data. Results　Reported brucellosis cases in Jinhua were mostly without clinical symptoms. The number of infected people was increasing from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, two brucellosis patients were newly reported. Most of the infected people were from dairy farms, and the two patients were from sheep abattoirs. Conclusion　It is necessary to further investigate the source of infection and high?鄄risk exposure in areas that had large number of infected people and patients. Health education and intervention measures for high?鄄risk population should be strengthened.
