Epidemiological characteristics of infectious diseases in the immigrant population in Huzhou  from 2004 to 2006

Objective　The present study was designed to probe into the epidemiological characteristics and reporting of infectious diseases in the immigrant population in Huzhou from 2004 to 2006． Methods　Descriptive epidemiological analysis of the incidence of infectious diseases in the immigrant population was conducted based on the reporting data. Results　The number of infectious disease cases in the immigrant population of Huzhou was increasing by year. Particular types of infectious disease accounted for a relatively great amount in the overall morbidity. Significant statistic differences existed in the number of cases reported in different counties and medical institutions of different levels. Conclusion　 Surveillance and prevention of infectious diseases in the immigrant population should be strengthened under governmental support.
