Epidemiological analysis of notifiable infectious diseases in Jiangyou city of Sichuan province from 2004 to 2007

Objective　The present study was conducted to get insight into the epidemiological characteristics and changing trends of notifiable infectious diseases in Jiangyou, Sichuan. Methods Statistical analysis was made on the data of the National Disease Surveillance Information Management System in Jiangyou from 2004 to 2007. Results　The overall incidence rate of infectious disease ranged from 723.04/lakh to 665.69/lakh, and the overall mortality was from 0.81/lakh to 0.59/lakh in Jiangyou from 2004 through 2007, maintaining stable. Conclusion However, the incidence rates as well as the constituent ratios of blood-borne and sexually transmitted diseases were increasing by year. The incidence rates of infectious disease have remained stable in Jiangyou in recent years.
