Quantitative measurement of seafood Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Zhoushan city, Zhejiang province

 • Objective The study was conducted to identify the contamination of IVibrio parahaemolyticus/I in sea foods. Methods Seafood such as fish and shrimps purchased from individual farm markets in Zhoushan city in three separated quarters aresampled and analyzed. IVibrio parahaemolyticus/I was quantitatively identified using most probable numbers(MPN), and isolateswere detected for toxin genes. Results The density of IVibrio parahaemolyticus/I in seafood varied significantly on a monthlybasis. TDH genes were detected in 2 out of 33 isolates of IVibrio parahaemolyticus/I. Conclusion Heavy IVibrio parahaemolyticus/Icontamination was found in sea products in Zhoushan, requiring urgent attention.
