Abstract
ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemiological features of infectious disease outbreaks in schools in Taiyuan from 2005 to 2007. MethodsThe descriptive study was conducteded to analyze the outbreaks in schools in Taiyuan during these period. ResultsDuring 2005-2007, total of 12 outbreaks occurred in schools in Taiyuan, most of which occurred in primary schools, accounting for 75% of the outbreaks, and most school outbreaks occurred during April -June (75%). The diseases occurred in the outbreaks were class B, C and non-notifiable infectious diseases (33.3% respectively) with chicken pox accounting for 33.3%. In 12 outbreaks, respiratory tract diseases accounted for 75%, intestinal tract diseases accounted for 25%. ConclusionClass B, C and non-notifiable infectious diseases were the main diseases in the school outbreaks in Taiyuan from 2005 to 2007, which were mainly transmitted by respiratory tract, followed by intestinal tract.
