Surveillance on rubella antibody levels in healthy population in Changping district in Beijing, 2007

ObjectiveTo determine the rubella antibody level and immunity to rubella among the healthy population in Changping district in Beijing, and provide the evidence for the development of rubella vaccination strategies. MethodsBased on stratified random sampling, surveillance of rubella antibody levels was conducted among the healthy population. ResultsThe protection rate of rubella antibody was 71.36% in Changping district; the geometric mean titer (GMT) was 63.84 IU/ml. ConclusionSignificant differences were observed on the protection rates of rubella antibody among the people with different ages and occupations.
