Investigation of human brucellosis in Dali county, Shaanxi province, 2008

ObjectiveTo investigate the current status of human brucellosis in Dali county, Shaanxi province. MethodsThe investigation and detection of brucellosis among high risk population were conducted by using serological and epidemiological methods. ResultsSerological test was performed for 380 people, and 12 people were positive (3.16%). The cases occurred sporadically, and the disease affected both men and women, Many infected perons were engaged in cattle breeding and raising, and the age of cases ranged from 20 to 50 years old. ConclusionClose surveillance of the brucellosis epidemic should be performed to prevent the expansion of the epidemic.
