Analysis of epidemic trend of communicable disease in Lincang, Yunnan, 2005-2008

  • ObjectiveTo analysis the epidemic trend of communicable disease in Lincang. MethodsDescriptive analysis was conducted on epidemic data reported through direct network reporting system of communicable disease from 2005 to 2008. ResultsDuring this period, 25 948 cases of class B communicable disease were reported with the average annual incidence rate of 274.30//lakh. The incidence rates of class B communicable disease in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 were 258.63//lakh, 268.34//lakh, 286.05//lakh and 284.18//lakh respectively. The cases of respiratory disease accounted for 50.42% of the total communicable disease cases, blood borne/ sexual transmitted disease accounted for 30.99%, intestinal infectious disease accounted for 9.21%, and insect vector/natural focal disease accounted for 9.29%. The cases of pulmonary TB and hepatitis B ranked first and second. In 2008, indigenous and imported dengue fever cases occurred for the first time. ConclusionThe major communicable diseases were respiratory diseases. The incidence of blood borne/sexual transmitted disease increased and the incidence of intestinal disease and insect vector/ natural focal disease decreased year by year.
