Abstract
IYersinia pestis/I is identified as the pathogen of fatal infectious disease plague, which is responsible for several devastating epidemics throughout history. IYersinia pestis/I diverged from IYersinia pseudotuberculosis/I 20000 years ago. The completion of genomic sequencing of both species offered unprecedented opportunity for researchers to carry out comparative genomic study on IYersinia pestis/I. This review is based on the comparative analysis between the genome of IYersinia pestis/I and IYersinia pseudotuberculosis/I, and provided a genomic perspective in describing the essential features of genome of IYersinia pestis/I. Based on comparative genomics, our work also presented a genomic view on the research status of various aspects of IYersinia pestis/I, including coding sequence, genomic recombination, toxic gene, habitat adaptability, as well as the intra-and inter-species evolution.
